"You need to make a trip to these locations."

He pointed to the paper in his hand, which listed the places Director Hu had just mentioned.

These houses contain large amounts of cash.

Lu Feng immediately understood what he meant: "Got it."

"Also, personally take a few brothers and arrest Huang San for me!"

"And the head of Secretary Xue’s foreign trade company, go and arrest him."

"Mayor Fang’s wife, Director Hu’s relatives, arrest them all!"

In no time, he came back out with everyone, formed teams, and drove away.

Watching them leave, Song Guanchao didn’t go inside but pulled out his phone and dialed the number of Huang Ronghua, the leader of the inspection group.

Receiving a call from Song Guanchao at such a late hour, Huang Ronghua was quite surprised.

He was shocked when he found out in the afternoon that Song Guanchao was on the wanted list.

"There are three people in the inspection group colluding with Secretary Xue." As soon as the call connected, Song Guanchao started speaking.

Without unnecessary chatter, he directly pointed out the situation within the inspection group.

Huang Ronghua asked, "Where are you?"

"The city bureau."

"The city bureau?"

This answer was unexpected for him.

The fact that Song Guanchao could call him meant he hadn’t been arrested.

So why was he at the city bureau?

"Secretary Xue, Mayor Fang, and Director Hu have all been apprehended."

"The provincial department will arrive in Pinghai City in half an hour."

Huang Ronghua was startled.

He had also suspected that Secretary Xue would flee and the provincial department would send people to investigate.

But he hadn’t expected the provincial department to act so quickly.

Even more unexpected was that Secretary Xue had already been apprehended.

From being wanted to being arrested only took half a day.

And, as Song Guanchao noted, the provincial department was still half an hour away.

This begged the question: how was Secretary Xue apprehended?

"Mr. Huang, do you need me to bring people over to help you make arrests?" Song Guanchao asked.

"Okay." Huang Ronghua didn’t refuse.

"See you soon."

Song Guanchao walked into the city bureau, and Director Ma looked up at him.

He saw that all of Song Guanchao’s people had left and suspected that Song Guanchao had sent them to handle the transfer of Secretary Xue’s assets.

He didn’t compete with Song Guanchao for control over this matter.

It was pointless.

Besides, the provincial department was coming soon.

When the leaders arrived, control of the city bureau would be handed over.

By then, he’d still be the marginalized deputy director.

Also, he had no interest in the ownership of those assets.

He only cared about Pinghai City.

"Director Ma, assign some officers to go with me to the guest house."

"Who are we arresting?"

"Inspectors."

"Who?" Director Ma’s eyes widened.

"Three inspectors in the inspection group were bribed by Secretary Xue and have fallen."

Director Ma was informed of this for the first time, feeling a bit of sorrow.

Even the inspectors couldn’t avoid corruption.

Song Guanchao patted his shoulder: "Pinghai City will get better."

This Director Ma was an idealist.

Ignoring their feeble explanations and excuses, he turned aside, saying, "Arrest them."

Five plainclothes officers stepped forward, handcuffing and controlling them.

As they were cuffed, they gave up resisting, regret consuming them.

Standing silently, Song Guanchao could see Huang Ronghua was upset.

As the leader of the inspection group in charge of Pinghai City, his subordinates had been bribed and dragged down by local leaders.

"Mr. Huang..." The man approached with a smile but froze upon seeing the two cuffed.

A foreboding feeling overcame him.

"Mr. Huang, what’s going on here?" The young woman raised an elegant brow, her delicate skin furrowing.

Instead of responding to her, Huang Ronghua looked at the man.

The man’s response confirmed everything without further questioning.

"Chen Jie Ming, you’ve disappointed me." Huang Ronghua sighed powerlessly.

Plainclothes officers stepped forward, grabbing his shoulder.

Chen Jie Ming retreated, regaining composure and feigned ignorance: "Mr. Huang, what’s happening?"

Huang Ronghua said, "Are you resisting?"

Chen Jie Ming stared him down: "I don’t understand what Mr. Huang means!"

He pointed at the officers: "Who are they, and why have they cuffed Brother Wang and Brother Zhang?"

Huang Ronghua’s eyes grew more disappointed: "You’ve accepted bribes from Pinghai City officials, confessed by Secretary Xue and Mayor Fang. Now, cooperate with the local police in the investigation."
