Chapter 380: Robin Harrison
Chapter 380: Robin Harrison
For Carol, despite the fact that she had known that Kate was previously a police officer, and was good at combat, she had not really thought much about it.
After all, quite a number of officers were not that physically fit. Some got into the police force through connections, not qualifications.
Even though she did not doubt Kate’s capabilities, considering that when they met early this morning, Kate had just completed her workout.
It was just that it was completely unexpected to her that Kate was this strong. To be able to take down to adult men, both of whom seemed to be professional bodyguards, it was shocking to her.
If she was the one that was facing them, just one of them was enough to be able to take her down. But looking at Kate, it was clear that this did not put much of a strain on her.
It was just that, Carol was left a little confused about something. That was the fact that Kate had been able to demonstrate extraordinary strength.
This kind of strength was obviously not unusual in humans. But for a woman, especially with such a lean figure, this was the first time that Carol had seen something like this happen.
So, for quite a while, she just eyed Kate, as she continuously shifted her gaze between Kate and the two men who had just been smashed onto the ground.
As for those other bodyguards that were blocking the path to the elevator, subconsciously, they took a step back. That was especially when Kate gazed at them, frightening them.
In their profession as bodyguards, they had experienced different types of situations. Of course, they had faced quite a number of enemies, but nothing like this had ever happened before.
To meet someone who was strong, but their appearance was extremely contradictory, it was their first. Additionally, considering that they were professionals, they had seen how Kate had moved.
Clearly, it was a piece of cake for her to be able to take down their two colleagues. This was something that intimidated them, despite being veterans.
Having worked in the capital for years now, they had definitely heard some rumors. It was just that those rumors had never been proven.
But now, they began thinking, was it possible that Kate was a mutant, just like they had heard before? This was the only thing that they could think of, that could explain Kate’s strength.
As for the group behind Michael and the two ladies, they had just been approaching, but now, all of them halted.
They all gazed at Kate, as they all shared the same dumbfounded expression on their faces.
Michael on the other hand simply gazed at Kate, shaking his head slightly. At the same time, he thought, this girl, she was kind of reckless at times.
The issue concerning mutants was obviously something that was kept confidential by the government. If Kate revealed that she was a mutant, and the news got to NEXUS, things could easily go bad for her.
Clearly, she had the intention of continuing with NEXUS. If something like this was reported, it would be considered recklessness from her side.
The issue concerning mutants was something that needed to be kept confidential, otherwise, it could easily cause chaos within the world.
Kate seemed to have noticed Michael’s gaze, as she turned and looked at him. She smiled, the previous coldness disappearing.
"Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing. Additionally, if you were not here, I would definitely not do it this way." Kate said as she smiled.
Clearly, she believed that Michael had a way of dealing with this. And, she really was irritated by the fact that someone was targeting Michael.
For that reason, she thought, she would not hold back that much. At least, she was not willing to take a lot of time when it came to dealing with this group of people.
"Don’t worry, I’ve got this covered." Michael smiled back as he said while slightly shaking his head.
"Great! Then, let me beat up this group, so that we can go back and rest." Kate responded with a bright smile.
She had trained from early in the morning, and after relaxing for a bit with Michael in his villa back in Brenton city, they took the helicopter to the capital.
After they came to the capital, a tour within Vanguard Corporation, then around the city, a little break at the Mansion prepared by Benson, before coming for the auction.
While she was not physically tired, because of the energy bar that she had consumed not long ago during the auction, she really was mentally tired.
Therefore, she wanted to get some time to rest. Which was why she wanted to speed things up.
"Damn! This is crazy! I never thought that there would be such a beauty, and a strong and feisty one!" Suddenly, someone exclaimed from behind her.
It was then that Kate paid attention to the group that had been chasing after them. She noticed that apart from Julius, whom they had met when they arrived, there was another young man beside him.
He had a clean-shaven, bald head that reflected the soft interior lighting of the feeling above. His face carried distinct features, a slightly crooked nose and full, thick lips that gave him a noticeable, almost rugged expression.
He wore a tailored charcoal suit that fit neatly over his broad shoulders, paired with a white shirt and a dark tie. Polished black shoes completed the formal attire, though, he kind of looked unsuitable to wear those clothes. They just were not meant for him...
Kate gazed at him, her eyes cold. The moment that her gaze locked onto his, the guy suddenly felt a chill running down his spine. At that exact moment, his entire body shuddered as he subconsciously took a step back.
When facing Kate, who could easily deal with his bodyguards, he understood that he could not take her own. So of course, he had to hide behind his bodyguards.
At the moment, apart from those that had blocked Michael’s group’s path, there were three more standing in front of him.
But Michael, who was also looking over, noticed the small beads of sweat that had appeared on the foreheads of the three bodyguards.
"You guys, are you not afraid of the rules of the auction house? You know, you are attacking a guest of the auction house." Carol suddenly spoke up.
Even though Kate had demonstrated incredible strength, Carol did not want things to escalate. After all, she believed that she was the reason why they had been targeted.
Additionally, this was a society that was governed by law. So, if they beat up these guys, even if it was for self-defense, things would definitely get complicated if they had to deal with the police.
And because her popularity had recently began shooting up, things might get even more complicated the moment that her identity was exposed.
For some of these people here, they really did not care about her, considering that it had not been long since the company began supporting her.
But even then, she was known all over the world. Her popularity might not be on the same level as the world level stars, but at least, she believed that she had fans from many parts of the world, even if just a small number in an area.
"Carol, I already gave you a chance. And I’m going to give you another. You better come over, and convince that girl with you, to come over as well.
Otherwise, unlike before where I was very gentle with you, this young master here will definitely not be the same. So, be sensible and cooperate, and you might end up gaining something out of this.
Otherwise, if you insist on resisting, things will get much more complicated, and you will end up suffering as well." Julius responded to Carol’s words.
He totally ignored anything she mentioned regarding the auction house.
Just as Carol was about to say something, Michael spoke first. He said, "Don’t bother about threatening them about the rules of the auction house. This guy, he’s Robin Harrison. His family has quite some influence within the capital. Probably, he possibly holds the VVIP status, or someone within the family does."
Something else that Michael did not mention was the fact that he knew about some of the rules of the auction house. During the time that they had been here, Onyx had been gathering the information regarding this auction house.
And one thing that he understood was the fact that, as soon as someone went past the security checkpoint, it would no longer be considered the responsibility of the auction house regarding the safety of those that came to attend the auction.
Additional, in a situation a guest with a higher level was the one targeting someone of a lower level, as long as it did not happen within the auction hall, anything could be settled.
Of course, anything could be done, apart from killing.
The moment that this group targeted them, Onyx had already managed to get the information related to them.
According to the information that Onyx had gathered, this guy, Robin Harrison. He was the third young master of the Harrison family, located within the capital.
The Harrison family ran a large entertainment empire that included film and TV studios, music labels, talent agencies, and streaming platforms. They also owned luxury cinemas, concert venues, and branded live-event companies.
In addition, they operated high-end casinos, resorts, and private entertainment clubs, often based in major cities and tourist hubs.
As for the net worth of this family, it was estimated to be around $123 billion.
"Who are you?" Upon hearing what Michael had just said, Robin, who was about to say something, paused for a moment before he asked, caution in his eyes.
